Standout Aspects

Acting

Bunta Sugawara's weathered presence anchors every scene.

Direction

Ishihara's tight 81-minute sprint wastes zero breath.

Best for:Solo: Late night dive into yakuza lore with zero interruptions.·Rewatch: Third time hits different when you track the power plays.
Heads up:Violence: Territorial disputes get settled the old-fashioned way.

Deep Dive

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Trivia

Bunta Sugawara was already a yakuza film legend by '99 — this late-career appearance is basically cinematic royalty slumming in direct-to-video territory.

Cultural

The 'Ambition Corps' series captures a weird moment when V-era yakuza flicks were dying in theaters but thriving in rental shops. This third entry is pure artifact.
