Red Rocks' natural acoustics required the orchestra to be mic'd differently than Church's usual arena setups — the strings were recorded ambient from the rocks themselves.
This show completes Church's arc from 'outsider' outlaw to maximalist showman, essentially becoming the very 'machine' he once railed against in 'Mr. Misunderstood.'
