Versailles had no toilets when Louis moved in; courtiers relieved themselves in stairwells and behind tapestries. The smell was apparently 'indescribable.'
Louis XIV performed as Apollo in ballets at court—literally casting himself as the sun god. The documentary recreates these moments but doesn't mention he had chronic pain and was probably miserable.
