Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This was the last Clash before WCW officially rebranded from NWA. The 'New York Knockout' name was ironic—Troy is 150 miles from NYC and looks nothing like it.
The Flair-Funk 'I Quit' match here directly inspired WWE's Attitude Era violence standards. Mick Foley watched this repeatedly before Mankind. You're welcome, society.
