Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This was the final Tom and Jerry direct-to-video film before Warner Bros. rebooted the franchise again in 2021. It also marks one of the last performances of original Tom voice actor William Hanna's archival recordings mixed with new talent.
The film literally rotoscopes entire musical numbers from the 1971 classic, creating an uncanny valley where Gene Wilder's ghost performs alongside a cartoon cat being electrocuted. It's either respectful homage or desecration—there is no middle ground.
