Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Intervision was the Eastern Bloc's answer to Eurovision, running 1977–1980 until Solidarność made Poland too hot to host. The 1980 edition in Sopot happened during literal shipyard strikes.
Finland participated in Intervision but never won—possibly because their entries were genuinely good and the judges preferred kitschy propaganda.
