"Yakusoku no Utsuwa - Arita no Hatsukoi" will be set in the town of Arita, and will be a youth story highlighting the scenery of Arita. It will star Hiro Shimono in the role of Jun Uchiyama, and Saori Hayami in the role of Nao Akiyama.

Arita ware is Japan's oldest porcelain style — the film was commissioned by the town itself as soft tourism, making this basically a 40-minute gorgeous ad you don't mind watching.
Director Junji Nishimura also handled 'Bartender' — another work where craft becomes emotional shorthand, proving he's obsessed with people who make beautiful things while their own lives stay unfinished.
